Anita's Week - 'Nothing But Class'...

Anita's Week - 'Nothing But Class'...

This is my last share for this week & I think I'm shamefully exposing my wild side! LOL - everytime I see this photo it's makes me smile! It was taken at my sister hen's party 2 years ago. What a night!!! I think the title 'Nothing But Class' pretty much sums it up. I love having journalling on layouts & it tells the behind the scene the photo can't. It also allows that story to be shared & remebered with others. I've taken a sheet of plain old white cardstock & transformed into a fun & vibrant page using only a few bits & pieces.

The WOW products I used to create this page were:
6x6 Chevron Narrow ALTA023
MP3 player from the Electronic Games Pack WOW893

I used watercolour paint with the chevron altamatz & then traced around with a black pen. With the MP3 Player, I used Copic Markers to colour it in. I have found for paint splatter - watercolours works best :) I have also used washi tape, pearl bling (coloured with Copics too), camera flair button, newsprint chipboard alphas & vinyl letters.

Thanks for letting me share some of my special memories with you this week.

Anita's Week -'Treasured Memories'

Hi bloggers! I'm back again (don't groan LOL). Hope you enjoyed yesterdays technique video - I'm a terrible translator in explaining how I do things! My brain just kicks in & goes, so when it has to stop & explain, it's like I have a steaker running across my train of thought LOL!!!

This layout I hold pretty close to my heart at the moment, as my grandfather has been quite ill & it is just a waiting game at the moment. So in tribute to my love for both my Nan & Pop, & the some 50 years they have been married for, I created this layout.

I used the title 'Treasured Memories' WOW708 from 'Words Or Whatever'.

I first used Tim Holtz - Vintage Photo distress ink & a sponge to colour the chipboard. You may need to repeat a couple of time, to achieve the depth of colour you want. I then used Glossy Accents, to add an epoxy shine to my title. Remember to always apply this with your chipboard on a completely flat surface!!! Otherwise if you have any sloping, all your gel will run to one side & not set even.
I prefer Glossy Accents to Diamential Magic, as it dries quicker & a but easier to apply :) It will take a couple of hours to dry (depending on where you live).

Here's a close up of the layout...

I'll be back tomorrow for my last post this week for my WOW week.

Anita's Week - More Techniques
Hi blogsters! Hope your enjoying all the love I'm sharing & that your brain feels like it's going to pop with ideas :) Today I've got another little technique video to share with you, using Altamatz.

I find after using gel medium, gesso, impasto etc on my Altamatz - a good wash with an old toothbrush (or your hubby's if he driving you nuts baaahaaaa!!!) gets all the paste out from all the nooks & crankies :)

I've got 2 more days left in my WOW blog take-over & so be sure to come back to check out my next couple of posts.
Thanks for stopping by :)

Anita's Week - 'UP UP & AWAY'

'UP UP & AWAY'

So here's layout no.3 for my week, as I take over the WOW blog...
I am absolutely in love with this layout! It has a quirky & fun feel to it. My little man looks so damn cute sitting in that little Wiggles plane :) Such a poser LOL!  I love how the plane appears to be flying across the page & the clouds are suspended by string.

I love how versatile chipboard is & what you can achieve with it.
The WOW products I've used for this layout out are:
Plane WOW333
Small banner borders WOW878
I've used copic markers to colour in the little plane & the banners. I then took some teal smooch & added a speed strip up the side of the plane. Then with my trusty black pen, I added outlines to emphasise the details of the plane & the create a border on the banners.

Other bits I've used are:
Fancy Pants paper
Flutterby Designs (me) photo cutouts & page tabs
Kaisercraft mini alphas
Kaisercraft Miss Match polaroid
washi tape
bakers twine
flair badge
Pearl bling (coloured with copics)
Handmade shipping tag
Scrap cardstock
watercolour paint
Handmade shipping tag (made from wrapping paper)
Black pen for doodling

Here's a few close ups...

I'll be sharing another project tomorrow :)

Anita's Week - 'It's My Party'

So here's another share from me... my 1yr olds 1st birthday party was a whole new learning curve I must say (he's not having another party until he's at school LOL). So with lack of sleep, the overwhelming amount of people & the sugar rush - most of the day looked like the pictures below...
I'm loving simplistic layouts atm!! It doesn't cost an arm & a leg to do a page. All you need is your WOW chippy, paper scraps, photo/s, black pen for doodling, paint, a couple of stamps & some other bibs & bobs (if you have them)...
For this layout I used: It's My Party chipboard title RWL362

To jazz up the title, I used acrylic paint, white & black pen.
I painted the 'It's My Party' with white acrylic paint, & then went round with a fine black pen. I painted the 3 balloons also & added some detail with a white gel pen.
Here's a close up of the chipboard title

Be sure to come back tomorrow to see what I've got installed..

Anita's Week - for my Best Friend

'Five Years & Counting'

So this is my week to dazzle & amaze you all (LOL) with my scrapbooking creations.
I'm very much into layering & mixed media with my layouts. A big change from my previous scrapin' style, which was using LOTS of bling & flowers. It's like from one extreme to the next!

This layout features a photo of my wedding day, where I married my best friend. As new parents, we've quickly realised how much kids turn your world upside down! I did this layout to reflect on what we were then & who we are now. As a reminder of what we have been through in the past 5 yrs & what lies ahead for the next 50 yrs (or there abouts LOL).
Products I used were: 6x6 Spiral Altamatz ALTA042
Classic Alphabet Uppercase WOW1384
'&' Ampersand WOW112

I first took some gel medium, a palette knife (painting spatula) & the 6x6 Spiral AltaMATZ
& roughly smeared it through the template - making sure I got at least a little bit of medium in each segment to keep the image. Then carefully remove the AltaMATZ (make sure you give it a good wash before the medium dries!)
Once it had dried on my page, I then randomly splattered some black & teal Golden paint onto my page. The colours on this layout are fairly neutral, so I kept my chipboard fairly understated. I used Tim Holtz 'Vintage Photo' distress ink on both pieces. I used a white gel pen & went around the word 'FIVE'.
I then began layering my paper elements, washi tape, photo cut outs etc. I love doodling - so my black pen is a must in my tool bag. The Smash pen is great because it will draw on photos & other glossy surafces - Love it!!!

Here's a close up of the layout...

So, keep an eye out for another post from me this week & I'll share another something :)

March New Releases from 'WOW'

Here are a few layouts I have come up with for WOW March new releases.

'RILEY'S WEEK'
Using the weekdays chipboard.

I actually have to snip a few down to abreviate them so they would fit.
I used watercolour to colour the chipboard - I love how vibrant the yellow turned out &
I actually painted all of these once they were stuck to the layout (LOVE watercolours!!!)
 Close up...

'BABY'S FIRST EASTER'
This one is using the title 'Baby's First Easter', it was all one piece & I've actually cut the 3 words up individually. I've painted the chipboard with watercolour paint.
Close up...

'DOCUMENTED'
With this layout I've used the 'Documented' title & arrow. I really like this one - it's bright, colourful & a bit random LOL! Again I've used watercolour paint to colour the title.
 Close up...

'LOOK AT U NOW'
In this layout I've used the acrylic 'now' title. I've used a black copic marker to colour it.

'Lil Sister'

This cool layout I did with a picture of me & my little sister, Beth.

I got Highly Commended for 'Love You' layout & Champion for my 'Dec Daily' mini album too!

 'All Mine' Scrap Layout
I created this layout using all my chipboard designs that were a custom order from
'Words Or Whatever'. There's the polaroid, mar title, little people symbols, arrows &
a 'You Are Here' symbol. I love how this one turned out - my fav colours, messy, fun & awesome chippy bits!!!

So here's what I used:
WOW custom chipboard pieces

'Mummy's Little Man'

This layout is really bright & colourful. I used mainly paper from the new Kaiser 'Class Act' range + some older scraps I had. I've used 2 products from 'Words Or Whatever' on this layout - the 6x6 Doily #2 Altamatz & chipboard title 'Mummy's Little Man'.
I've used watercolour paint to colour in the title & a fine black pen to trace the doily altamatz.

Other bits & pieces I've used for this page are:
Washi tape
Handmade shipping tag
Flutterby Designs photo cut outs / page tabs
Camera flair badge
buttons
copic markers
pearl bling

'Wonder'
I did this layout instead of tidying up my craft room LOL. I came across an old class kit I had put together & decided to put it to some use, rather than collecting dust :)
So here it is. This paper is from Crate Paper
