'Be Awesome Today' for Colour Blast

Hi there Colour Blasters! Anita here :)
I'm back today with some creative inspiration for you.
Saddly, this is my last post on the Colour Blast team :(
I have had a ball playing with these fantastic products.
Here's what I created...

'BE AWESOME TODAY'

After playing along with Kraft+ challenge,
that Colour Blast sponsored
the other month. I decided I LOVED the
challenge soooo much, I wanted to have ANOTHER
crack at it LOL....

I've prep a little, using a gesso to created an 'island'.
I then grabbed a colour in the Mica Powders, & created
some watercolour detail over the gesso.

I used the same colour to mix in with some
gel medium & put thru the Flutterby
'Words of Wisdom' stencil.

I then finished of with LOTS of gorgeous goodies from Flutterby Designs!!!

'Hello Love' for Colour Blast

Hi there Colour Blasters!!!
Anita here :)
I'm sharing a sneak peek at some new
Mica Colour Powders!! Here's a layout I created
using them...

'HELLO LOVE'

I have not used mica powders a lot before, so I adapted
them in a way I was familiar
with. I firstprepped my layout with some gesso
& then moved in to create a watercolour
effect using the powders.

I decided then I wanted to do some stenciling,
so I mixed some mica powder in with some gel medium
& used a script stencil.

I wanted to alter my wood veneer, by colouring it.
I painted it with gesso first, & while it was wet, daubed
some mica powder onto it using my finger.

I had made up the pink mica powder & gel medium
originally for stencilling, but changed my mind LOL.
I didn't want to waste it - who ever wants to do that?!
So I started freehanding a big flower on my layout.
Once it was dried, I knifed around a few petals & tucked
my photo underneath.

I finished off embellishing with a few
Flutterby Designs goodies.
Have you had a play with the new Mica Powders yet???

'ONE BEAUTIFUL GIRL' for Colour Blast

My turn again on the Colour Blast blog today.
With this layout I wanted to create a big, bold &
dramatic background. I've used black cardstock
again to really make it pop.

'ONE BEAUTIFUL GIRL'

I've used lots of gold in this one!
Bling Colour paste, Bling shimmer spray
& Bling embossing powder!!

I'm not a stamp & emboss kinda girl, so what I
like to do is while my paste or paint is still wet & tacky,
is pile on some embossing powder & melt it.
It creates this kinda cool metallic enamel texture to your background.

June Shares for Flutterby Designs

I thought it was time
I popped in & shared a few projects I've created
over the last several weeks. I've just started retreating again... & I LOVE being able to let my hair down & create with my people. Nothing better than having sore ab
muscles from being bent over laughing for so long.

'Hello Beautiful'

I've used the new 'Partners In Crime' collection.
I loved this sheet of Cocoa Vanilla Studio paper &
it looked like the perfect starting point. I've gone in
with some gesso & my Flutter Colour paints swooshes.
I then began piecing & layering the Everyday Etc cards
with my photo.

Finishing up with some doodling, Circle & Confetti Circles wood veneers, Flair button, Teal Sticky Snippets, Enamel dots & Partners In Crime Page Tabs. I've also used
a Charm's Creation Mini Heart.

PRODUCTS USED:

 'Mum Mum Mum'

This cool monochrome layout I created at a my first
retreat away from Evie (who turned 1 the day before LOL). I've started with a mixed media base.
I've used the 'I {heart} You' stencil with some glass
bead gel, plus some Flutter Colour paint, gesso & a bit
of Colour Blast paste. With a simple bit of layering, flair button, Page Tabs, doodling & title - it's done!

'PIT STOP FUN' for Colour Blast

I'm back to share a layout I made using some
fab Colour Blast products!
I've gone with a black sheet of cardstock to
really make the background pop

'PIT STOP FUN'

I've used a 12x12 stencil & taped it down on
my workspace over top of the cardstock.
I then selected the Colour Pastes I wanted to use.
I went with these colours:
Deep Water
Envy
Apple of My Eye
Sunshine

I started with yellow & worked my out using a
using a palette knife to spread my pastes.
Once that was dried, I watered down some gesso
& created some splatters & paint runs to where
I had decided to place my photos.

I then watered down a bit of Sunshine & Envy
colour pastes to wash over the gesso a bit.
I also flicked my brush to add splatters.

I then finished off with my photos & embellishments :)

A couple of weeks ago, at Shop & Crop's Glamping
retreat I showed the girls a quick demo using the
Colour Blast Colour Pastes.

With the one of the demo backgrounds I created,
I made into a layout for one of my new friends, Kathy
of her gorgeous tribe :)

'You're Weird I Like It' for Colour Blast

I'm back to share a little layout I created for Colour Blast
the other week at a retreat .
This one is SUPER easy to create - let me tell you how....

'You're Weird I Like It'

Using some 'Marshmellow' Bazzill Cardstock,
I put down a layer of gesso & with one of my
old (kinda hard) brushes, I dragged it through to
add some texture to the gesso.

I then used some clear 'Glass Bead Gel' through a
Flutterby stencil. This media dries really cool.

Then it was time for some Colour Blast Paste!!
I've used 'Envy' in this. I put a blob of it on my craft
mat & watered it down. Using a paintbrush,
I applied in areas to my background. Using a water
spray bottle, I can spray different parts & moving my cardstock around - I can achieve nice movement
throughout my background.

I gave that a quick dry & used the left overs on my
mat with a smallish paint brush, do add 'flicks' to my layout.

I finished my layout off with some simple embellishments.
Firstly a large open cutfile, an foiled ampersand, my photos, some word stickers, thread & a flair button :)

My little girl is the cheekiest kid ever!!
These faces she's pulled are priceless LOL
