'You Are Awesome' layout for Colour Blast

Hi there!
I'm back to share another Colour Blast layout with you :)
I started with a blank piece of white cardstock...
I grabbed a pile of cards from the new Everyday Etc cards 'Drama Queen' & Stencil 'Stargazed' from Flutterby Designs
& Colour Blast colour paste & shimmer spray in 'Royalty'.

'YOU ARE AWESOME'

I didn't prep this background at all with any gesso,
just straight in with some Colour Blast Colour Paste - Royalty
& the Flutterby 'Stargazed' stencil to go with the cards I had chosen.

I had arranged my cards & photos prior to doing
my background. Once happy with their arrangement,
I glued them together - but NOT to the background.
This gives me a rough idea where to use my Colour Paste,
where it wont be hidden by my photos.
This is a great tip when creating your own backgrounds.
I hate creating such a beautiful background & then
your photo covers most of it up - hence why I love using
4x4 photos or smaller ;)

I've then used Colour Blast Shimmer Spray - Royalty,
& 'flicked' some shimmer over the stars to give it a
splattered look. Then once that was all dry, I glued
my photo/card cluster to my layout & added the finishing embellishments - Flutterby Designs - flair buttons, Page tabs,
small wood veneer stars. Some black thread & doodling
with a Posca Paint pen.... ta-da!!!

'Talk Nerdy To Me' for Colour Blast

Hi there CB lovers!!
I'm back on the Colour Blast blog & I wanted to share with you that Colour Blast
isn't JUST for scrapbooking/mixed media!!! You can also use it for your
pocket page scrapbooking :)

'Talk Nerdy To Me'
For this I have used the NEW Everyday Etc Cards 'Drama Queen' & other
embellishments from Flutterby Designs.
I've also used Colour Blast - Colour Paste 'Royalty' over the corner
of a 6x4 photo. The only thing I would say is, if you're impatient (like me LOL)
& hate waiting for stuff to dry... Just heat carefully with heatgun.
Lots of movement - don't heat one spot for too long ;)
I then flicked a bit of runny gesso over the top.

I love using Posca Paint Pens for all my journaling & doodling on my cards/photos

I grabbed my palette knife & used the Colour Blast - Colour Paste 'Lipstick'
over this offcut of white cardstock, to use as a photo mat over the Everday Etc card.
I've finished it off with a wood veneer '#happy', Page Tab Cut-out No.145,
& there's something else on there that's coming soon ;)

For a bit more embellishing to a card, I've added a Flutterby
'flair button' (from set No.376)  with some black thread underneath
& a few Enamel dots to finish.

I've used Colour Blast - Colour Paste 'Royalty' again through
the Flutterby 'Words Of Wisdom' stencil. I like to give it a quick dry ASAP,
so that the medium tightens up for a crisp image & doesn't sort of relax
(hope that makes sense)
I also used Colour Blast - Colour Shimmer Spray 'Royalty',
to flick bits onto the 6x4 card.

Behind the photos I have used an off cut of an Everday Etc Card &

'Shine Bright' for Colour Blast

Hi there bloggers!
My first turn to share on over on the Colour Blast blog :)
I've created this one is my 2 kiddos & this was their Christmas photo.
I'm not that big on all the christmas papers/embellishments etc,
so this is how it turned out....

'SHINE BRIGHT'

I first chucked down a layer of gesso to give my paper a bit more integrity.
I then went in with a Flutterby stencil 'Got Letters' & used some awesome
Colour Blast - Colour Paste 'Steel' & spread over the stencil.

Using the Colour Blast - Colour Shimmer Sprays in 'Bling' & 'Steel',
I unscrewed the spray cap & used the inner straw to 'flick' it over my layout.
*BE CAREFUL not to spill it everywhere.

I dribbled on some more white gesso & while it was still wet,
I sprinkled some Colour Blast - Colour Embossing 'Bling'
onto parts of my layout. I then went over with some thick black
acrylic paint - keep an eye on the Flutterby Designs page for more info soon ;)

Make sure the paint is still wet enough before putting it on,
or wise you might find as soon as you start your heat gun -
you end up wearing it all ;)
This built up different textures with little effort. It's lots of small details
that make a background awesome.

I've finished embellishing with a few Flutterby bits - Foil flair button, Page Tab cut-out,
& part of an Everyday Etc card.
