Bloom Girl August Challenge

Bloom girls have their first brand new challenge! They will have a monthly challenge
with a new Inspirational Challenge each month. You will be inspired by the amazing
design team throughout the month with a variety of different projects.

This Challenge will be open to any type of crafters, whether you scrap book,
make cards, paint, draw, mixed media the choice is yours! You don't even have to
use a Bloom Girl Stamp in your project to play! How awesome is that!

For our August they have a gorgeous color palate that Jamie has put together.
You can use all colors, some colors or simply tell them how this color scheme has inspired you...

This is my entry as a Guest DT. I'm still waiting to get some Bloom Girl supplies to play with. I have used another stamp from the Prima Doll collection.

'You're Weird'

You will have until August 31st to enter this challenge and for a
chance to win a little something special from Jamie Dougherty! :)

'Always Dream Big' page layout

I had so much fun making this one! I've always admired Finnabear's scrapbooking style - but I've never attempted to try it. Well I bit the bullet! I brought her 12x12 'Dreamer Collection' (from 7 Dots Studio) ages ago, so I decided to use some of it LOL!!!

I've collected alot of metal trinkety things to use over the last couple of years. Things like washers, buttons, sprockets, studs, paper clips, safety pins, mini bottle caps, metal flowers etc.

What I did was I glued them all down with clear tacky craft glue, & then painted over with a light coat of gesso. Once that dried, I sprayed with homemade glimmer mist & Mr Huey's spray.
REMEMBER - to put a piece of paper or something over your photo to stop it from getting sprayed!!!

Art Journal Pages
These are some of the art journal pages I've done since being inspired by Donna Downey the other weekend. I loved her class, but I was busting to sit there & just let the mojo flow!!!

This page says:
"Accept everything about yourself. I mean everything.
You are you & that is the begining & the end. No Apologies, No Regrets...."

'Always Dream Big'

'Art Helps Me Breathe'

'No day is so bad, it cannot be fixed with a nap'

'Stars can't shine without darkness' - ohhh washi tape is my fav thing atm!!!!

I guess you've picked my favourite colour by now LOL!!!
I hope you've been inspired to start some of your own art journalling :)

'OUR FAMILY' Mini Album

This mini album I created with scraps of chipboard from my stash, so it's a bit of a mis-mash!! I used the 8x8 Printery paper collection from Prima for this & whatever other scraps I had.

I love how it turned out! The word 'family' were originally blue chipboard letters that I used a black permanent marker to colour in & then used 'Snickerdoodle Smooch' to dot over the letters. They look pretty cool! I covered all the chipboard pages & inked around the the edges with distress ink & then bound it all together with my Bind-It-All. I grabbed anything that would coordinate with this & then just went nuts LOL!!! Washi tape, Photo Cut outs, flowers, metal trinkets, bling etc!

I've also done a Youtube video on this mini. Here's the link

Hope I've inspired you to rifle through your stash to
create a beautiful keepsake :)

Mini Album & Altered Box

Hey Scrappers, Here is my latest project, which I spend most of yesterdau doodling with this one. I love these papers!!! This box is from 'Scrapware' & the papers are from 'Cosmo Cricket - Circa 1934' range. The metal corner embellies are from Green Tara, the flowers & hat pins I have made myself. For this project I used 6 sheets of the papers, old book pages, 1 x 'Scrapware' 6x6 box kit, 1 x 'Cosmo Cricket - Circa 1934' chipboard sheet & 4 x metal corner frames. Angel's R Scrappin have all of these above items in store.

'Words Or Whatever' - MDF Photo Tray

Hey Scrappers,

This awesome photo tray is from 'Words Or Whatever'. I Loooooooooove it!!!! It comes in 2 pieces, so you can get all your papers stuck in & then hide all your crooked (he he) edges with the top sectioned piece. The easiest way I found to get all your papers in the right place, was to trace the top sectioned window onto the backing piece. I have used papers from 'Stampin Up', old book pages, vintage music sheets, ZVA Creative bling, 'WOW' Leaves & date label, Kaisercraft Mini Alphas & Tim Holtz Ornate Book Plate, crackle paints & distress ink. Things I have made for this are the paper roses, hat pins, digital print outs, clear transparencies.

I am so proud of this project, as I think I really put a piece of myself into this one!

'Purple Haze' Bird

This little bird cage was actually a christmas decoration I found at Big W?! It didn't seem fitting for a tree, so I altered it with flowers & vinyl decals. Ta-da!!!
