How To Make A Simple Mini Album

Ok here's a quick little run thru on how I make some really cute & simple
mini albums... I made this one 6x8" (cover is 8x12" folded in half).
First thing I do is print my cover as an 8x12" photo at my local photolab.
I then glue & D/S tape (as I want it to stay together) to a sheet of manilla folder.
I trim down to size & allow glue to dry before folding in half.
I then round the outer corners.

Then I raid my scraps stash & paper off-cuts for my pages. These can be all different sizes & shapes,
as it creates interest in your mini. I then fold & score them in half.

I then start figuring out what order I want them in...
I then make a template to mark the 3 holes I need for my binding & then go thru & pierce
every hole. You'll need some twine & a sewing needle for this bit. Here is the youtube video
I got this binding technique from:

The only thing I've done differently is to finish the knot on the ouside on cover. So the first stitch is started from the outside (not the inside like she did)
Like so :)

Here is a FREEBIE for you!! My cover design for you to print off &
create your own mini with :)
To download my book cover design, simply right click & save as.
It is designed to be printed as an 8x12 photo enlargement (matte works best!)

Here's video of my finished mini album, so grab a cuppa & enjoy :)

This is also the style/technique I used for my Dec Daily last year :)

Fancy Pants 'Collecting Memories' Kit from Scrapbooking From Scratch

This is the Fancy Pants kit the lovely Peta at Scrapbooking From Scratch
has sent me so I'm just sharing a few layouts I have created with it...
This kit has since sold out prior me publishing this - BUT
there is still plenty of this paper collection available at the shop.

'I Will Always Make Time For You'

This is also the November colour challenge.

'You Had To Be There Moment'

The background for this is using the tea stained technique I showed earlier.
I love outline things with black pen on my layouts & if you haven't tried it - grab
a black Posca paint marker from the shop!!! These things are awesome! They write
pretty much over any medium & very hard to kill ;)

Don't forget to head over to the SFS blog & try your hand at this month's challenges.
You could be in the running to win some SFS $$ to spend in the shop!

Here's my layout with Donna's Quote challenge...

Thanks for stopping by :)

Hey Peeps!! Anita here with my WOW for this month & I'm passing on a
technique that the awesome Ebony van der Starre showed me a few months ago -
 Tea Bagging!!!!
I love the tea colours, but was thinking out aloud to the girls at my table & I said
"Wouldn't it be awesome if they made coloured tea bags?!"
They laughed & thought I was joking - but I was quite serious LOL.

With using the tea bag - it's best to leave it to go cold & scungy
(so that the colour gets really deep).
But as I said - I wanted to have coloured tea splats!!!
So I have developed this technique a little bit...

You will need:
- Some rubber gloves (unless you don't mind coloured fingers)
- Dylusions Ink Spray (whatever colour/s you like)
- White cardstock
- Heat gun
- Green Tea bags (I know you'd all have some in the cupboard - cause if your like me you     should be having that instead of the 3rd cup of coffee to keep you going LOL - you'll have plenty!!)

I worked out that by using Green Tea bags & not letting them sit & go scungy,
I can add a few drops of Dylusions Spray Ink to make
COLOURED TEA SPLATS!!!!!!!!!

So get yourself all set up & ready. Add some warm water, your tea bag & a few
drops of whatever Dylusions Ink you'd like. Give it a bit
of a mix around with the tea bag & SPLAT AWAY!!!

Give it a dry with your heat gun. You could always pat it dry with some paper towel,
but I like the effect you get with the heat gun & giving the it time to dry. It kinda of
creates layers of colours. Give first colour a good dry before adding another colour
to you page.

 & repeat...

Here's the finished product!!
I love how the puddles pool & when they dry have lots of depth to them.

Below are a few samples of this technique...
(L) is just straight Tea & (R) is the above technique.

So if you don't have any Dylusions Ink Spray in your scrappin' stash -
head on over to the shop & grab some!!!!

 OCTOBER CHALLENGES OVER
AT SFS

So it's October already (I know, I can't believe it too)!!!
it's my turn for the quote challenge & here it is:

Here's my sample layout I did for it. This layout
cracks me up!!! This was my first B&S Ball
& I did in fact have a ball LOL. I used a wet tea bag & dylusions to create the background.
TIP: if wanting to do colours rather than tea colour,
use green tea bag with a splash of Dylusions Ink.
It seems fairly approriate given I am covered in
food dye myself LOL.

 Some close up shots...

I have used all products from SFS, apart from
the Flutterby flair & photo tab, & the Hybrid card I printed
out myself.

Here is Donna's sketch challenge

Here is Charm's Colour challenge

Remember to head over to the SFS shop for
all your scrapping supplies!!!
