'Hello THere Sweetheart' By Anita Rodway for Colour Blast

It's my turn on the Colour Blast blog today & I've got a little layout to share with you :)
I've taken a few step-by-step pics to show
you my process.

I've grabbed some Bazzill 'Marshmellow' mixed media cardstock
(which doesn't require any gesso) & some Colour Blast Shimmer Sprays:
Royality & Lipstick. I've sprayed & dried it a few times, to build up the
colour & look of what I wanted.

I've then stuck down a strip of this pretty wrapping paper. I've then grabbed
a Flutterby Design 'I Heart You' stencil & 'Deep Water' Colour Blast paste.
While that was still a bit tacky, I've grabbed my 'Royality' Colour Blast Embossing
powder & just sprinkled over the paste. I kinda like how bubbly it went as I heated it.

I watered down some 'Deep Water' Colour Blast paste & added some drippage
thru the hearts. I decided it needed another 'pop' of colour, so of course I grabbed
some 'Bling' Colour Blast paste & Shimmer Spray. I've used a script stencil for
the paste & flicked on some splats with the shimmer spray.

Here's what my finshed layout turned out like :)

Bev & Nat SFS Summerland Point Retreat - April 2016

Last weekend I got to head away for some 'me' time. I got to scrap with
some of my favourite arty peeps. It was first time away from my 1yr old, but my
arty soul need this time to rejuvenate. Nothing better than good food, fantastic company, drinks & full blown belly laughs to help you relax & centre yourself again.

Seeing as though it had been a over a year since I was alone (so to speak),
I did initially have NO idea whatsoever on where to start creating LOL.
I ended up getting myself a new black art journal & just started painting
to see where it would take me. A good warm up when you've got a creative block ;)

Here's what I came up with...

'Breathe'

This page has lots & lots of layers. I would stop & start in between chatting & just
pick from where I left off. Boy did I do some chatting LOL. It was good to have some
adult conversation & not speak the words 'where are your pants?!'

I've mainly used my fingers as my paint brushes. Putting dollops of colour here & there.
I used 'Lipstick' & 'Envy' Colour Blast pastes through 2 very different stencils,
to add more depth to my pages. I've also used some splats of Colour Blast Shimmer
sprays over the top.

I finished off with some freestyled brush script with a word that best described
me in that moment.
'Breathe'
That's exactly what I needed. No one to please but myself. Free to let go of anything weighting down on my shoulders & create without inhibitions. If you have never been to a scrapbooking retreat - I highly recommend you try it :)

So this is me doing a impromptu Colour Blast paste demo with some of
the ladies from retreat. They loved how easy it is to apply & all that shimmer!!
There was a race to the Colour Blast stock after this - those moments always make
me giggle.

Effortless backgrounds made super easy with some white cardstock & Colour Blast Pastes!!
I've used these colours in the below picture:
Envy, Royality, Lipstick & Sunshine

A big thank you to Lisa Oxley for taking these pics x

'Take Pride' - WARNING CONTAINS SENTENANCE ENHANCERS!!

DISCLAIMER - If you are offended or don't like reading a blog with a few profanities (or what I like to call 'Sentenance Enhancers) This blog post is NOT for you....

I wasn't going to blog this layout at all, but after some negative feedback I decided I wanted to talk about why this layout was important to me & my reason to share it.
I will say a lot of it was positive feedback, but a few 'precious' people voiced their dislike for it. But hey that's great, you don't like it - KEEP SCROLLING!!!
You do not HAVE to make any comments, the power is your hands - just keep going!!!

I created this after a really crappy day, this is just what my creative soul needed. A chance to breathe, escape & recover. It was a day that I struggled to be the mum I need to be. It sometimes it just feels like falling down hole, spinning out of control. I do not like days like this at all. But I needed to remind myself that "I am enough".

I needed to create. I needed to express my emotions. I needed to let go.
This layout allowed me to do so. I shared incase other people needed to hear a message of self worth. That's it's ok to be you. Cause you are bloody awesome!!

I've been scrapbooking for well over 12 years & I do not want to fit into the mould
that people tell me I need to, to make it anywhere in this industry.
I create for ME. It's a release for ME. I create to only please MYSELF.

Yes I have an scrapbooking embellishment business, which my personality
SHINES through brightly. I don't have to make them like every other every other company.
Everyday isn't unicorns farting fucking rainbows or even just happy embellishments fullstop.
It is real life that I want to document, not put on a facade & make my life look super glittery
& fake. Ok that's probably enough of my ramblings, here is what I created :)

Colour Blast layout 'Cutie Patootie'

Hi hi lovelies!!!
I'm back to share this quick little layout I did of my little Miss.
Teal is totally my favourite colour, so Deep Envy Colour paste suits me to a tee LOL

'Cutie Patootie'

I watered down some 'Deep Envy' Colour Blast Colour paste to create a watercolour
effect on my background & gave it a quick dry with my heatgun.
Once it was dried, I grabbed one of my fav stencils (this one is a Flutterby Designs one)
& used the same colour paste through the stencil.

I've also used a Flutterby fussy cut, for a title & blinged it up using
Colour Blast 'Bling' Embossing powder.
I then used a posca paint pen to add some doodling.

I grabbed my 'Apple of My Eye' Colour paste & added a little water (just a bit)
to allow me to 'flick' some onto my layout as splats, as well as
some 'Bling' shimmer spray!

'Hello You'

Helloooooooo!!
It's my turn back on the blog & I've got a got a
little layout that I adore. Much like with my usual style -
well let's say 99% of them LOL, it's minimal, but big bold colours. I LOVE creating my own backgrounds,
& I really don't use patterned paper much these days.
Once I am happy with where my background is at,
I hate to cover all that painty awesomeness
up with photos/paper/embellishments...
Here is a layout I created using our new

'HELLO YOU'

Here are some close ups

I started with putting down some soft, but
subtle watercolour tones.

I then went in with a Flutterby Stencil 'I {heart} You'
& some glass bead gel medium. I added nothing else
to this, as I wanted it to add another dimention of texture,
but not to take away from the focal points.

Next I've 'dribbled' over & flicked on some
Flutter Colour paint & allowed it to dry.

I worked out how I wanted the layering of my
embellishments to be. I've used some

I put down 'nests' of black cotton thread to add
some interest. To finish off, I added a Flair Button
from set no.381 & Enamel Dots. I painted the wording
on the wood veneer, to make it 'pop' a little.
And in my true style - grabbed my trusty black pens,
to add some doodling & small details.

I LOOOOOOVE how much texture this layout has!!

'Day of The Dead' Art Journal Page for Colour Blast

Hi there - Anita back again...
I've been enjoying my art journal lately.
With 2 small kids & running a business from home, my creative time often is limited & it's easy to grab, my art journal, Colour Blast products & get messy!!.

'DAY OF THE DEAD'

First off I started with some 'Stormy Weather' paste
& spread over a template. I waited until it was
dried completely, before sticking on my skull
image with gel medium.

I put a variety different coloured of pastes out onto
my craft mat (just a small amount) & worked in a
little water. Using a small paint brush, I applied colour
onto the detail onto the skull. Once I had finished
colouring the details, I used the remainder of pastes
to 'flick' onto my page to create paint splatters.
Once it had all dried, I went back
over with a black pen to make the lines 'pop' again.

I love how textured this page turned out!
